Whitewater Tubing on the Potomac River
Want some rapid excitement with the ability to "go it alone"? Whitewater tubing may be the trip option for you! River Riders is THE Original Harpers Ferry tubing company, with over 3 decades of experience! On a sizzling summer day, there’s nothing as refreshing as floating down the cool river in a tube.
Tubing On Your Own
One of our most popular adventures, Tubing on Your Own gives you the freedom to go wherever your tube takes you. The Tubing on Your Own package includes a tube, life jacket, free shuttle transportation, and parking.
The Whitewater trip passes by the historic town of Harper's Ferry, West Virginia where Marland, Virginia, and West Virginia come together, and has class I-III whitewater excitement on the Potomac River. The trip lasts about 1 to 3.5 hours (average of 2). All self-guided whitewater tubers should be at least 12 years old and 5 feet tall. We reserve the right to change the minimum age due to water conditions.

Recommendations
All tubers should be in reasonably good health and physically active. Those exceeding their ideal weight range by more than 35 lbs. may find this trip unsuitable. Be aware that this trip is "on your own" and there are no staff members present while on the river. Some cell phone coverage is available, and guests should bring cell phones with them on the trip as they may provide a means of communications in an emergency. We have waterproof containers for sale at check-in. Not all service providers offer coverage in Harpers Ferry.
