 North Branch of the Potomac
WHITE WATER RAFTING
Class II-III+
Ready to pass the on our patented River Riders Fun-o-Meter? Then join us on a raft trip down the renowned North Branch of the Potomac River. The high water volumes and steeper gradient of the North Branch create waves up to 6 ft. high, and continuous class II to III+ action keeps your heart pounding and your raft moving. Brief sections of calm water between rapids allow relaxing, swimming, and cliff jumping.
Controlled releases from the Jennings Randolph Dam create premium conditions for whitewater rafting on specified weekends in April, May, September and October (see dates below) on the North Branch of the Potomac. Our put-in is located about 1/2 hour south of Cumberland, Maryland, and the trip runs seven miles from Barnum, WV to Bloomington, MD.
The North Branch trip costs includes life jackets, paddles, helmet, guide, shuttle transportation. You can add to the challenge and adventure in a stable, quick, and maneuverable sit-on-top kayak at no additional charge.
