Let the American Canoe Association-certified kayakers at River Riders teach you today’s hottest outdoor sport - kayaking.
Kayaks and kayaking have evolved tremendously since their development in ancient times. Their roots go back to Inuit peoples of North America, who used animal skins to fashion sleek, long boats for transportation and hunting. Around 100 years ago, Americans were introduced to the touring kayak, made of wood, then of fiberglass. These recreational crafts were appropriate for flat-water and ocean paddling, but not well suited to the current and obstructions of whitewater rivers, which could easily damage or destroy these fragile boats. In the early 1970's tough, durable plastic kayaks were introduced, making whitewater runs feasible. This change opened up thousands of miles of whitewater to paddling and primed the sport’s incredible growth. Come learn kayaking-today’s hottest outdoor activity-with the experts at River Riders.
You’ve heard all the talk lately about learning and class size. At River Riders, we agree, small classes today crank out tomorrow’s hottest boaters. We have low student to teacher ratios to ensure you get individualized instruction from our gifted instructors.
We offer classes for beginners waiting to cut their whitewater teeth, intermediates who just needs some fine tuning, and expert/advanced students ready to take the plunge over waterfalls, slip through small cracks, and perfect stylish rodeo moves.
