The opportunity to travel through the heart of the Appalachians will put you in the midst of magic and beauty. We invite you to explore the ancient Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers in one of our many canoes and touring or sit-on-top kayaks. These lightweight, quiet crafts are ideal vessels for discovering the abundant wildlife that flourishes in these amazing riverine ecosystems. Paddlers often see: swimming Turtles, cavity-nesting Wood Ducks, elegant Egrets, Belted Kingfishers, fishing Osprey, and stately Great Blue Herons. You may even witness the majesty of our nation's bird-the Bald Eagle! More so, the waters provide for trophy class Smallmouth Bass and other angling opportunities. So pack your fishing pole and binoculars, because the current only flows one way, and out here it's just you and nature... We will supply you with your canoe/ kayak, the shuttle to and from the river, a map, and other necessary equipment.

White or flat water, half-day, day or overnight trips can be arranged. Plan to arrive at least one-half hour before departure to allow time to transfer personal gear to the shuttle vehicle. Canoeing experience must reach the level of the trip you are taking. Most trips are on the Potomac River, but if you are running short on time, hop on board our Shenandoah Express Trip. Trips can sometimes be arranged on the Shenandoah for sections other than Harpers Ferry, if river conditions are suitable, generally in the spring time.

Paddle & Peddle Canoeing Package
Enjoy the beauty of Harpers Ferry and the Potomac River on a 4 hour canoe and 2 hour bike trip. Your adventure starts near Historic Shepherdstown, WV with an 8-mile flat-water canoe trip that takes you to just above Harpers Ferry. We'll meet you there and exchange your canoe for one of our state-of-the-art, aluminum frame Specialized™ mountain bikes. You’ll then journey down the Chesapeake and Ohio (C & O) Canal Towpath to Harpers Ferry where you can stop to enjoy the town, site of John Brown’s famous slave revolt, or continue downstream before pick up. Either option is a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
