2001 Pyranha InaZone
Aim: Pure Exhilaration Strategy: Design, Use, Improve!
 "Yeah, baby!" Take the worlds' best selling planning hull boat, the InaZone. Use it for 2 years, listen to what lots of you boaters have to say and note your comments on it. Then improve it, refine it and get it in production! Result: the new Ina Zone Range from Pyranha for 2001.
So what have we changed? Firstly we have added a totally new boat to the range: the InaZone 212. Designed specifically for you smaller people around the 45 to 65kgs (99 to 149lbs) weight range and who are shorter than the average bear! With it own dedicated set of Super XR Performance Kayak Fitting's (more on this later) designed specifically for people of this size. Not just throw in from bigger boats as an afterthought!
This thing is super sweet and as smooth as some of those glassy waves that it will be super fun on, "Ho yes, Mama!" It's got plenty of performance too. Small people have skill and talent as well, you know!
 The other boats 222, 232 and 242 have kept their user-friendly "Play the River" breeding and are based around the classic originals. Some have their own specific improvements like the 242 has a bigger cockpit and different volume distribution ratio (we kept this boat as short as we could so that you bigger people can have fun in the shallow places too, but still take it down class 4/5). The 212 has a new 700kg (1540lbs) recessed end grab designed from the Pro Zone due to its small end section. The others all have our 1000kgs (2200lbs) standard whitewater system.
OK what about the design changes then? Well, at a rough count, we have
made about 12 tweaks to the Ina Zones. Some of the main ones are:
Improved hull shape: Why? Well after many hours out in the InaZones, we
realized that we could reduce the angle on the kicker rail making the
boat even more friendly and less trippy than before but keeping it nice
and lose, which keeps it spinning and you smiling! Then we wanted to
help you ollie and do all the latest mad intruding airspace stuff that
is going on! So the rocker has been made more progressive and smoothed
out end to end so that it will surf cleaner and cartwheel smoother.
This, combined with a slightly shorter effective planning area, will
sort that out.
New deck profile: Why? We wanted to make the profile cleaner through the
water, both forward, backward and end-to-end. You asked for more foot
and legroom. So we played with the deck slightly, put foot tunnels in,
lowered the high point on the back deck slightly and like the hull made
it flow progressively end-to-end.
Improved volume distribution: Why? You asked for more foot and legroom
and a slightly lower rear deck. To achieve this, we had to re-balance
the volume distribution so while we were at it we subtly improved that
too. Smoother sweeter transitions from end to end make the new InaZone
go in to auto rotate while you set up for the next move!
New fittings: Why? Because we're all different! You wanted more
adjustment and better power transmition. Plus the ability to adjust your

What do you get?
A positive and rapid two-ratchet buckle adjustment for
a fully supportive free flow, one strap back band that groves and moves
with you. Check this out! This adjustment can be done with your deck on!
New thigh grip profiles give you better power transmission and smoother
adjustment with better support. Combined with a quick adjust re-profiled
lighter seat with grip bloc pattern. When combined together as a total
system, it assists in transmitting body power directly and instantly to
the boat, but also supports the lower back / legs better and increases
comfort giving you a more positive ride.
Tighten it! Loosen it! Adjust it! It's up to you!
Fitting bag: Lots of paddlers have asked for the ProZone fitting bag to be put in all the new InaZones so its in! 50cm sq of 5mm self adhesive foam, self adhesive hip pads, fish sponge and foot foams for the "shoc block" footrest system and vinyl fish sticker. Get your boat home and fit it out, no extra expense or hassle. Look! If we make it any easier, we will be foam fitting your boat out here at the factory.
